Family

A family can be what it can be
A group of people, and animals alike
Like a building all balanced on each other
Strong holding up the weak
The Sad cheering up by the happy
Speaking for each other
Talking with each other
Holding hands as we travel the path of life
Pushing each other toward goodness
Not letting others settle for okay
Hugging and joking, crying and laughing
Family are the people who support you
You may not like them all
They may push you to hard at times
Family is a big part of your rhythms in life

You are like the moon
On a cloudless night
Moonbeams cascading over trees
Bouncing off windows
As brighter reflections
As we shine in others lives
Reflecting on their goodness

Clouds may fade our light
Hide our brightness
This is only a fading moment
The bright moon is still there
Shining just as brightly
Waiting patiently to glisten again
Clouds of discouragement may cover our joy
May hide the beams of brightness
